Revised 3-14-08: I just had to rescan this drawing. It still doesn't pick up all the shading in the face, but it is a little better. Below is my original comment when I posted it.
This is on 9 x 12 bristol board. I haven't tallied how many hours it took to complete, but I still have a sore hand from it! This is mainly how I spent my 5 day vacation from work!
I hope to get to reply to comments and new deviations in the next couple of days. I only have internet access at work, so that really limits my time here! I really need to do something about that, don't I?
We can forgive a man for making a useful thing as long as he does not admire it. The only excuse for making a useless thing is that one admires it intensely All art is quite useless.

You're truly amazing at this!
The likeness is just right and all the tetails are absolutely fabulous! I also like your shading and the way you've done her eyes. This piece stuns me :claps:
Incredible.
How do you find the patience and determination to delicately add all that detail?
I find my eyes are all staring and my jaw is dropped and I still can't fathom how you do it.
A delight for the eyes, as usual.

There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
